Open Houses on June 26, 2021

 The Waterville Historical Society will have an Open House on June 26, 2021. Due to our museums being closed thru the exhibit season of 2020, we will again have the same display as planned, but now called “The 75th Anniversary of the End of World War Two, The Covid Delay” in the downstairs of the Robbins House. at 114 S. River Road. There are uniforms, pictures, artifacts and stories of local men and women who participated in this war. There are also displays of original front pages of local newspapers with major events of the war.

The upstairs of the Robbins House has a display called “The Good Old Days” and contains many artifacts from the mid-1800’s to the early 1900’s. Doctors instruments, telephones, clothing and many other articles from the Society’s collection. The Children’s Bedroom has displays of games, dolls and educational materials. Come and see what life was like long ago here in Waterville, Ohio.

The downtown walking tour will meet at Robbins House 9 AM and the Uptown walking tour meets at Wakeman Hall at 12 noon.

The Wakeman Archives will be open from 10 AM to 2 PM located upstairs at 401 Farnsworth Road, contains records of Waterville organizations, businesses, churches, schools, etc., as well as family files and local history. The public may inspect them free of charge and a volunteer archivist will assist with research. No items may be removed from the archives, but copies may be made for a small fee. Donations of similar documents and photographs, or items brought to be copied and added to the files are welcome. To schedule an appointment at other times call: 419-265-4871.
